At ADEO, safety is more than a policy; it is the heartbeat of our commitment.

By positioning safety as a core operational priority through our “Safety First” strategy, we uphold a fundamental conviction: the well-being of every individual is the cornerstone of responsible and sustainable performance.

Our ambition is unequivocal: “Zero Accidents.”
This target reflects our responsibility toward ADEO’s 115,000 employees, as well as our customers, partners, and anyone visiting our sites. We are dedicated to ensuring that every person can work and thrive in a safe, healthy environment—every single day.

A Strategy built on five pillars

To translate our ambition into daily practice, ADEO has deployed a rigorous roadmap integrated into our Code of Conduct built upon 5 fundamental pillars:

  • Compliance: Adhering to legal requirements and internal ADEO standards,
  • Culture: Embedding and championing safety at both global and local levels,
  • Data-Driven Action: Leveraging analytics to guide strategic decisions,
  • Operational Excellence: Ensuring continuous oversight and adherence to standards,
  • Transparency: Communicating openly to share successes and critical alerts.

This momentum thrives on individual accountability: every employee is a leader of their own safety and the safety of those around them.

Supported by the ADEO Safety Committee and a network of local Safety Leaders, this culture is woven into every level of the organization. By integrating safety directly into our core processes—Supply Chain, Offer, and Industry—we ensure that safety remains the primary engine of our efficiency.

2025: A Year of Progress and Tangible Results

The year 2025 marks a pivotal turning point in our journey toward international excellence. Seven of our Business Units (including Leroy Merlin Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Tecnomat) are now ISO 45001 certified, a testament to the rigor of our health and safety management systems.

➜ Prevention in Action :
Through advanced data management, we launched a targeted intervention program for high-frequency accident sites. The results speak for themselves: 92% of these sites saw a reduction in frequency rates, with an average improvement of 37%. Additionally, our “5-day alert system” ensures any serious incident is reported globally within days, fostering collective learning and immediate prevention.

➜ Empowering Leadership through Training :
Safety leadership is a skill we actively cultivate. Beyond technical training in ergonomics and posture, ADEO will roll out its Managerial Leadership Program to all executives and managers by 2026. High-impact initiatives, such as the “Club of 1000” and the inclusion of safety metrics in executive compensation, further solidify this commitment.

The collective efforts of our teams translate into encouraging figures for the year 2025:

  • A 22% drop in TF1 (accidents resulting in lost time), reaching 10.3, a result superior to the objective set for the year,
  • A decrease of 8.4% in the severity rate of accidents,
  • A 45% reduction in occupational diseases.

Through these actions, ADEO is making safety a priority to care for its employees and guarantee a « Safe Place to Work » for everyone.
