Three million homes are still heated with coal, and more than one million households are real \u201cenergy vampires\u201d, where a massive part of energy is wasted because it escapes outside due to lack of proper thermal insulation.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As a result, greenhouse gas emissions linked to both electricity production and heating homes are very high. Leroy Merlin Poland has therefore chosen to make access to energy renovation one of its key priorities, working closely with its partners and suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2192 <\/strong>On the one hand, the <strong>product offering is evolving towards the least carbon-intensive solutions available<\/strong> (our Scope 3 product GHG emissions in 2025 are down by about -30% vs. 2021).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2192 <\/strong>On the other hand, the <strong>\u201cEco Home\u201d solution portfolio<\/strong> (\u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leroymerlin.pl\/produkty\/oszczedny-dom\/?srsltid=AfmBOoqGpt0hkZ5RMFYypjqDo4DNTsYo8ufGyDWXX5HD6W2lBU8hA5fU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oszcz\u0119dny Dom<\/a> <\/strong>\u201d in Polish) gives inhabitants safe and easy access to end-to-end energy renovation projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Energy audit,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Project structuring,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Selection of complete solutions (products and installation),<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Mobilization of public subsidies and financing<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This approach is made possible to a large extent thanks to a ground-breaking exclusive partnership with a trusted partner, deployed across all Polish stores and online.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To involve all stakeholders, employees and customers are trained and informed about how an energy renovation project works. Thanks to our banking partners, we even offer zero-interest eco-loans and simplified financing pathways.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2192 <\/strong>The challenge of <strong>energy renovation is also a social issue<\/strong>:<br \/>\n12 million people in France are currently affected by energy poverty, a situation that often leads to health issues, isolation or over-indebtedness. The Home Index, launched in Portugal in 2024, has also helped guide inhabitants toward more environmentally informed choices.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2192 Facing the challenge of housing quality:<\/strong><br \/>\nA dedicated offer, supported by educational initiatives, has been launched focusing on two main challenges: energy efficiency and leaks. To support the most vulnerable in the energy transition, Leroy Merlin Portugal and its partners created the Recria program\u2014an ecosystem of volunteers and more than \u20ac300K in funding\u2014to contribute to renovating around 50 homes per year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2192 Regarding greenhouse gas emissions from the housing sector:<\/strong><br \/>\nLeroy Merlin is one of the most active and ambitious players in Portugal in decarbonising its operations. The product offering is being redesigned to prioritise lower-impact solutions. The company\u2019s decarbonisation plan has reduced its footprint by 18.7% between 2021 and 2024. In parallel, circular economy solutions\u2014rental, second life, repair\u2014are being developed in stores and on the marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>From an environmental standpoint, we are evolving our offering so that by 2027, 80% of it will be made up of more resource-efficient products.
