Established in France since 1923 and pursuing its international development ambition since 1983, ADEO has enjoyed a long history of success.
In 2007, Leroy Merlin Groupe changed its name, becoming first GROUPE ADEO and then, in 2014, simply ADEO.
Today, the ADEO companies are recognised around the world through numerous awards from organisations such as the “Great Place to Work Institute”.

AU STOCK AMERICAIN

Adolphe Leroy and Rose Merlin open a store, "Au Stock Américain" in the Pas-de-Calais region, selling American surplus goods left by the Allies after World War 1.
LEROY MERLIN 1960
1960
The company adopts the name Leroy Merlin, opening the first self-service DIY superstore. It is also the first company to offer free delivery services.

The company is taken over by the Association Familiale Mulliez.

Weldom and Dompro join the group.
ZÔDIO AND KBANE
2007-2008
The first ZÔDIO store opens in Massy, near Paris (2007) and KBANE launches its consulting and installation service in northern France (2008).
CASTORAMA Italy
2010
Acquisition of CASTORAMA Italy.
2011-2012
Acquisition of online retail chains:LIGHTONLINE, DELAMAISON and DECOCLICO (in France); creation of HOMES-UP in China and launch of KOZIKAZA, an online community in France.
