Nissan Brings Real Life Online - Using Web to share a unique experience
Creating a website that recreates the experience of meeting with car designer Masahiro Toi.

A car company launches a new vehicle in a highly competitive market. They need us to provide highly effective market exposure. At the same time the main creative force behind the Nissan X-Trail, Masahiro Toi, is visiting Canada, and is available for various promotional efforts.

A unique idea is born.


We decided to capture on video, Toi San interacting with customers as he demonstrates the new X-Trail. The resulting materials could be used in a variety of advertising efforts, including the web.

During Toi San's visit to the Canadian International AutoShow, he was filmed doing a personal demonstration of the new X-Trail vehicle. The filming style was extremely effective at creating the illusion of a customer personally and directly interacting with Toi San himself.

As the Web vendor of record for Nissan Canada, we felt the most effective way to use the video would be as part of an interactive online experience. Therefore we scripted and designed a website that captured the same personal experience of the AutoShow’s attendees.

We popularized the piece through an email campaign and delivered a timely analysis to Nissan, assessing the success of the product.

A unique personal customer experience that can be reused in future marketing efforts. Over 1000 customers viewed the site in the first 48 hours alone.
