Nissan Canada Inc. - Murano SUV Interactive Campaign
Engaging, educating and encouraging customers to experience the Murano SUV.
 

When the time came to introduce the Murano, a radical new class of SUV, the challenge for Nissan was to use a dynamic medium to allow customers to virtually experience the vehicle.

Nissan had created an award-winning SUV that embodied sleek luxury on the outside and a wealth of potent innovative technology on the inside.

The Murano’s many unique features needed a dynamic medium to convey the full range of its strengths and capabilities.


Adeo, in collaboration with Nissan’s ad agency, TBWA/Toronto responded to this challenge by creating a CD ROM that virtually conveyed the experience of driving a Murano.

Created by the team in less than 2 months, the resulting bilingual Flash-based CD included:

  • Full narratives
  • Video clips & picture galleries
  • Selectable sound tracks
  • Dealer locator

These functions, in combination with animated stories provided rich insight into the vehicle visually conveying Murano features such as:

  • Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission)
  • VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control)
  • Full-time AWD (All Wheel Drive)

Sophisticated tracking mechanisms incorporated into the CD provided Nissan with valuable aggregate statistics such as:

  • Number of unique viewers
  • Average viewing time
  • Content viewed

This information gave the Nissan marketing team a true measure of the return-on-investment.

For Nissan, a healthy 46% response rate from the distribution of 76,000 CD ROMs has proven that an interactive medium generates awareness, educates and engages customers in familiarizing themselves with the product.

A strong average viewing time of 11 minutes clearly demonstrates that customers are engaged and have firmly established the identity of the Murano in their minds.
