Emco Ltd./M&M Meat Shops - Drive them to web with a CD ROM
Adeo uses CD ROMs to educate and excite users, pushing traffic to new web sites.

For these clients the challenge was similar. They had web sites to launch and needed to encourage their broad audiences to log on.

Emco Ltd., a leading distributor and manufacturer of building materials for the residential, commercial and industrial construction markets, was ready to launch a product sourcing application for online customers through their web site.

In M&M's case the launch was a new franchise extranet, a single source of operational information.

Both audiences were large and new to web so extra encouragement was needed.

Rather than a brochure, Adeo recommended a CD ROM that could be positioned as high tech but easy to use. The CD ROM using Flash could be brand enhancing while providing valuable information, instructions and a link to the web sites.

For Emco

  • The application was a short microsite with a brief overview of the company, their offerings and an introduction to the new web site features.
  • The microsite then linked the visitor to the web site where they could learn more.
  • The packaging was light weight and point of sale displays allowed Emco to put the CD ROMs in their distribution facilities.

For M&M

  • The application was an e-learning tool.
  • The microsite contained demonstrations of key site features, voice narration and an engaging sound track.
  • It was a self contained, self-paced, bilingual learning environment. Franchise owners could use it to assist their store teams in understanding the new site. Employees could also use it themselves.

The CD ROMs offered immediate image enhancement. Seen as high tech and professional, these applications set a new standard for communication. The effectiveness of these applications will be measured over the next few months as their impact is ongoing.
